Professor Muhammad Babar Khan, an esteemed and dedicated educator, hails from the serene village of Sarai Saleh in District Haripur of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Born on June 1, 1964, he comes from a lineage of influential figures. His grandfather, Abdul Jabbar Khan, and his father, Muhammad Jaffar Khan, were prominent landlord farmers and the Sardars (chiefs) of their village, respected for their leadership and generosity.

Professor Khan is blessed with a close-knit family, including two daughters and one son. His early education took root in his native town, where his keen intellect and passion for learning were evident from a young age. He completed his matriculation in 1979 from Cantt Public School in Abbottabad, followed by Intermediate, BA, and a Master’s degree in Urdu Literature from Abbottabad College, completing his academic journey in 1989.

In January 1993, Professor Khan began his illustrious career as a Lecturer in Urdu with the Federal Government. He was posted at Islamabad Model College for Boys, F-10/4, where he devoted 32 years of his life to educating and inspiring young minds. His career trajectory is marked by significant milestones: he was promoted to Assistant Professor on April 16, 2006, then to Associate Professor on September 27, 2019, and was awarded Grade 20 on March 5, 2020, reflecting his unwavering dedication and excellence in education.

Throughout his distinguished career, Professor Khan served the education department with unparalleled commitment. His students, inspired by his profound knowledge and mentorship, have excelled in various prestigious fields, becoming doctors, engineers, lawyers, judges, bureaucrats, and prominent figures in political and armed forces institutions. This legacy of student success is a testament to his exceptional teaching and nurturing spirit.

Beyond his academic duties, Professor Khan held the position of Staff Secretary multiple times, amassing a total of 12 years in this role. His leadership skills were further recognized when he was appointed Head of the Urdu Department in 2010, a position he held with distinction for 14 years until his retirement. His tenure as head was marked by innovative approaches and a commitment to fostering an environment of intellectual growth.

His remarkable contributions did not go unnoticed on a national level. He was nominated for the prestigious Presidential Pride of Performance Award, ranking among the top three teachers in the country for this honor. This nomination underscores his outstanding service and the significant impact he has had on the field of education.

In addition to his professional achievements, Professor Khan is known for his amiable personality and his love for social gatherings. He has a unique ability to forge lasting friendships, and his presence has been the heart of daily gatherings in the Urdu department and the staff room. These gatherings, often centered around tea and engaging discussions on various topics, will be fondly remembered by his colleagues. Both the teaching and non-teaching staff will deeply miss his charismatic presence.

As he embarks on his well-deserved retirement on May 31, 2024, the principal and all the staff of the college extend their heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for his invaluable contributions. We pray for his long, happy, and healthy retired life, filled with joy and fulfillment. Ameen.
